What does C3 provide?
C3 provides the administrative oversight to enable families and tutors to come together to receive a comprehensive education by determining the classes needed for a classical education, coordinating tutors needs of classrooms and equipment, class schedules, tuition, oversight of tutors to ensure their quality and content is in line with a C3 approach.
C3 provides the physical location needed for classes. C3 does not provide a transcript for the student. That is between the families and their tutors. Grades are not usually given but that varies with the instructor and are shared only with parents. Some sort of evidence of progress through the academic year may be provided to the parent by the tutor.
What do parents provide?
A parent is onsite each day to supervise their student(s) as they are attending their classes. They need to see the students come on time and prepared for their class, and that they are aware of and following the Family Contract rules for attending classes. Parents will determine the classes they want their students to attend and maintain communication with their tutors through the academic year as needed.
What do students provide?
Students, especially age 12 and up, should be aware of the rules of C3, come to their classes on time and be prepared with homework assigned. Their commitment to their studies provides them with an education to carry them into the future. We expect courtesy to the tutors and their fellow students.
What do tutors provide?
Upper Level tutors will provide a class description and syllabus so families can make an informed decision about which classes to enroll in. Grammar Level tutors will provide a description of their classes. Age levels for each class will be provided by the tutors.
The C3 contract goes into more detail about what is expected of everyone participating at C3 beyond what is mentioned here and is available on the website and in a booklet given out to each family at the Back to Class meetings before classes start in September. The contract involves rules for safety and courtesy for everyone on site and administrative details for the functioning of C3.
